OPEN LETTER TO FANS AND COMPETITORS FROM DAVID PLATT
Contributer:Ozspeed.net
28/01/2008

Dear Competitors and PTCC fans,

A lot of misinformation has been circulating and I am taking this opportunity to state some facts.

In late December 2007, I received a call from Mr Rod Dale, the a director of Australian Motor Racing Series Pty Ltd. This call was to inform me of proposed changes to the 2008 series. During this conversation, Mr Dale advised me that AMRS could no longer continue to support the series due to the heavy losses AMRS had incurred over the past three years.

Mr Dale said that in order to enable the series to continue in 2008, Bob Jane and Mick Ronke had taken control of AMRS and would be the sole promoter for the coming series.

I was further informed that despite our enormous contribution in creating and developing the category over the past two years, Ozspeed Management would no longer be required by the new promoters. Ozspeed was not invited to the meeting held at Calder Park in December when it appears that Mr Dale sold or assigned a category not owned by AMRS to Bob Jane and Mick Ronke. Mr Dale said the new management would contact me, but to date this has not happened.

It is clear that Mr Dale, Mr Jane and Mr Ronke want the Production Touring Car Championship Category as a headline act. It is also very clear that Ozspeed Management is no longer required by the AMRC, but its Production Touring Car Category, its profile and its past success are valuable components of the new series.

A offer to continue to be involved in the new series sourcing funding for the new promotors was not considered by Ozspeed and the PTCC for obvious reasons

I don't need to list the achievements of The Australian Production Touring Car Championship Pty Ltd; they are there for all to see. From a very humble start in 2006 to the premier production car category in 2007.

I also find it very amusing that Mr Dale would use the PTCC forum, another very successful part of the championship, a championship which Mr Dale and others must have considered badly managed, to promote the 2008 series for Australian production touring cars.

Promoters need to be aware that Ozspeed Management Pty Ltd and The Production Touring Car Championship Pty Ltd will aggressively protect and defend its intellectual property and its investment in the championship. Any unauthorised use of any proprietary material, logos or copyright material will be dealt with by our solicitors. Competitors and fans should appreciate that our intentions in this regard are not selfish ones.

As competitors you are free agents and can race anywhere you like.

Ozspeed and the PTCC plans for 2008 will be released shortly .

Ozspeed and the PTCC would like to thank all competitors and fans who supported the category during 2006 and 2007 .

Sincerely ,

David Platt
The Production Touring Car Championship
